Don’t make it your goal to become like your spouse, simply copy another marriage, or even focus on each other. Let your goal be to become more like Jesus. This entails being like Jesus in your attitudes, actions, words, thoughts, desires, etc.

1. Work on growing your own relationship with God- if one spouse is pursuing Christ and the other isn’t there isn’t a deep well to draw from.
2. Worship, attend church, and pray together on a consistent basis.
3. Prayer is a powerful tool in any marriage, but too often it’s put on the back burner and considered a last resort. Not only are we told to pray in scripture–we’re told to pray without ceasing. Learn and live what Christ teaches about relating to and loving others.
