Don't Forget to Laugh

Updated: Nov 17, 2018

On a date a few years ago, Amy and I were in a book store and found a comedy book by Jay Leno. What started as a few chuckles ended up with us practically on the floor laughing so hard we could hardly catch our breath. While everyone around us thought we nuts, we were actually breathing life into our marriage. The Bible says, "Laughter does good like medicine." We need to laugh and laugh- a lot- with our spouse. It can't be all serious. Pressure at work, family problems, unpaid bills, health issues, and the everyday "life happens" suck the life out of our marriages. We made a choice to take a break from our problems. Take time this week and to do something fun together. Don't talk about the bills, the kids, work, or the chores. It's ok to take a temporary break. Do something fun and laugh until your sides hurt.

TRUTH TO PONDER: Laughter does good like medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

DISCUSS TOGETHER: When is the last time you laughed together? What were you doing?

TRY THIS: Take a break this week from your problems and responsibilities and do something that will make you really laugh.
