It's hard to have hope sometimes when we see so many unhealthy marriages. Maybe you are struggling right now in your own marriage. How is it possible to have a beautiful and enduring marriage when you can't even find the strength to be patient with your spouse? The truth is, if you have Jesus living on the inside of you, you have everything you need to have a great marriage. Read that again. You have everything you need to have a great marriage. 2 Peter 1:3 says,
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3
When we give our lives to Jesus, and stay close to Him in relationship, a divine power is released - to love our spouse, the be patient, humble, selfless, forgiving, etc.
In Ephesians 1:19-20 Paul prays,
And (so that you can know and understand) what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead... Ephesians 1:19-20 Amplified
His divine power is immeasurable, unlimited - available at all times, in every situation, in the most difficult situations - the same power that raised Christ from the dead is available to us to live a godly life. His immeasurable, unlimited divine power is available to us to give us everything we need for a beautiful and enduring marriage. What do you need right now in your marriage? Do you need the grace to forgive- you have it. Do you need more patience? - You have it. Do you need to more love? You have it. His divine power has given you everything you need. The close you get to Jesus, the more you allow HIs Word to transform your heart, you will experience a divine power to see your marriage go from tough to tender.
